Liz Born is a Chicago-based artist. Working primarily in relief and lithography, she illustrates the communion between animals and human-animals. Mythological heroines, half woman, half rodent, are ambassadors from a world in which we are sympathetic to the plight of pests. To empower the rat is to empower ourselves.
Liz has taught relief, screenprinting, and intaglio at Spudnik Press, The Hyde Park Art Center, and Marwen. She is the co-founder of Hoofprint, a printmaking studio and gallery in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood.
